Weekend Recap

We had a pretty busy weekend here is Graham.
Saturday morning, Cody was off to work bright and early. Reagan was off to Little Gym with Nana to do some summersalts, and I got some yard work done.
Later that day Reagan and I jetted off to Grants 1st birthday party. We had So much fun playing and catching up with friends.
Sunday was my birthday, and my brain was clearly excited to start the day being as I woke up wide awake at 6a. Cody made me breakfast, and I set off to Fred Meyer to spend some birthday money I had been sent.
Nana came over at 12:30 to babysit so Cody and I could sneak out for lunch and a movie. It was so nice to get out just the two of us. We came home and celebrated with a family dinner and game of Mexican train, my favorite!
It was a great weekend and fabulous birthday!
Until next year.

They're Baaack!

After some encouraging from my Mom, I dug out Reagan's cloth diapers and am giving them another shot.

I threw in the towel when I realized the bulkyness of them was impeding her ability to roll over, now that she is up and walking I figured she wouldn't have a problem with the bulk.

So far so good, granted I just made the switch yesterday. We'll see how it goes, but I've already saved 4 disposables from sitting in a landfill for years to come.

10 Weeks

How far along:10 Weeks {July 16th}
Total weight gain: 5 lbs
Maternity clothes: I guess if you consider yoga pants a maternity item.  My "way to big" shorts are now only a little too big.
Bump Size: My tummy has "popped" this week. I went from nothing to baby bump...maybe it's just bloat from my top-a-ramen feasting...
Sleep: Better, Reagan seems to be on a better sleep schedule, so she has been sleeping through the night. Thank goodness!! So now only up once to pee.
Best moment this week: Another doctors appointment marked off the books, it was pretty uneventful.
Miss Anything: Yes, still missing booze. What good is beautiful weather when you can't enjoy a cold one.
Movement: Nothing yet, although I had a dream I could feel (her??) moving.
Food Cravings: top-a-ramen, Subway sammiches, margaritas
Anything making you queasy or sick: No, the mornings are bad- but I think it's just because I'm so dehydrated when I wake up
Gender: I feel like it's a girl? Maybe it's just wishful thinking on getting to reuse all these adorable clothes I've been hanging on to...
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: Yes
Belly Button in or out: In
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy
Looking forward to: Finding out if Cody's transfer goes through....tick tock...

Dear Baby #2

Baby number two,

A couple months ago I told you we are ready for you. Well apparently you are ready for us too!! Just this morning I found out I am pregnant!!!

Both Daddy and I are so excited, thrilled to have the next 9 months to plan for your arrival and then get to bring you home into our beautiful little family. I'm certain that you will fit right in to our craziness!

I want you to grow big and strong over the next couple months, seeing you in our first ultrasound will be amazing. I cant wait to hear your heartbeat and watch you wiggle and jiggle.

A million hugs and kisses will be waiting for you on the outside.

Love You baby.

{I found out I was pregnant on National Doughnut day, obviously we had to celebrate with a few!!}

Uncle Riley's Visit & Fourth of July

My very favorite brother came to visit from Texas!! Riley actually surprised me with a trip up for Reagan's birthday party, he was able to stick around for a week or two so Reagan and I got to see him a bunch! We are such lucky girls!!

We had a low key fourth.  Fireworks, being sober and having a one year old really dont mix. We went to my Mom's and had a BBQ, we were home for Reagan's bedtime at 7:30 and Cody and I watched a movie and were asleep by 9. Lame. I know, but thats just how we roll these days.

I am so glad we got to spend some time with Uncle Riley.
Until next time Riley, until next time.

Staying on budget while planning a party

With Reagan's 1st birthday party planning behind me, I wanted to share some tips I found to be especially helpful for staying within budget::
Buy white when you can, that way you can personalize it and save the extras for a future party.
Personalizing can be fun and super easy! A little washi tape, stickers, paint or a stamp can take a boring white item and make them perfect for any party.
I was able to purchase a stamp on Etsy and use it all over Reagan's party. I stamped the back of her invitations, the white paper cups, and white tablecloths.
The white cups were left over from a previous party, and I still have plenty for a upcoming get togethers! I can already see some blue washi tape and red striped straws in their future for a fantastic Fourth of July BBQ.

Brainstorm themes and color schemes well in advance.
Knowing what the plan is will help you start picking things up months before the big shindig, that way when you see the perfect matching paper napkins on clearance at Target you can snatch them up and store them away.
I started brainstorming 6 months in advance, and was able to score some major deals at yardsales, on craigslist and in clearance bins.

Do it yourself.
Hello, Pinterest is your friend. With so many online resources these days it's easy to find ideas on doing everything yourself, invites, food, decor can all be done yourself. Even the least crafty person can pull off a great DIY party with step by step tutorials.
Don't forget your honey-do list, give your husband a reason to get in the garage and play with his power tools.

Use coupons to buy what you need.
Be patient, things will go on sale and you will either have or get a coupon for the item or store. If you've done your job at setting a theme early you can have months to be watching the stores to see when things are at their lowest price.

Use things you already have around the house. OR Borrow from friends and family.
You'll be surprised at what you already have that can be used as decor. Be creative, sometimes digging through Holiday totes or camping supplies can pay off.
If your friends or family members have something that would be perfect, just ask if you can borrow it. If they say 'No', just slip it in your purse and borrow it anyway. I kid. Kind of.

When you do have to buy things make sure they are things you can reuse or sell.
If you can't then you don't need to buy it.

If you can't make it, borrow it, or own it already than do your research before renting.
It can be cheaper than buying if you don't plan on using it again, or at least often enough to get your money's worth. Shop around, and find the best place to rent.

At the end of the day, remember what the purpose of the celebration is for.
If little Johnny doesn't get the right balloons you can always Photoshop them in later.
Happy party planning!!!

Party time, Excellent!

Reagan's first birthday party went so great, except for Reagan coming down with a fever and missing most of it...womp womp...I guess I can only plan so many of the details.
Of course I didn't get as many pictures taken as I would have hoped, but I'm thankful for the ones I did snap. I hope I can look back at these and remember how freakin awesome the day was!
To many more.

The crawfish boil was a great success! Something to cross off the bucket list, probably won't host one again- but so, so, so glad we did it once.
We even had leftovers for this little baby:: Best damn crawfish pizza this side of the Mississippi.
