Carter's Room

We spent the weekend working at the house, one of the big projects was getting Carter's room painted.

I was set on painting horizontal stripes in her room, I had read a couple of web sites with some good tips and felt well prepared to tackle the task. I guess what I didn't realize how time consuming it would be. I am over the moon happy with how they turned out, but so glad that we are done with them!

Painting always sounds like such a great idea until you are half-way in and OVER IT.

Total weight gain: i would guess between 12-15lbs
Maternity clothes: like there is another option
Bump Size: baby girl is 11 inches or so
Sleep: really good! Finally! I've even got a couple of 7pm bedtimes in this week.
Best moment this week: its been a great week!
Miss Anything: Not really
Movement: lots of movement, lots and lots of movement.
Food Cravings: one day I had a super intense need for pancakes, so I made up a big batch and faceplanted right into them.
Anything making you queasy or sick: no, been feeling really good.
Gender: sweet baby girl
Labor Signs: no
Symptoms: heartburn like a motherrrr. A few headaches sprinkled here and there.
Belly Button in or out: in
Happy or Moody most of the time: happy with a few moments of irritability.
Looking forward to: 22 week check up on wednesday.

20 Weeks

How far along: 20 Weeks {Sep 23rd}
Total weight gain: 12ish lbs
Maternity clothes: yes
Bump Size: I feel like it's the same, I keep saying that I will take a picture- but between packing and surviving it keeps getting missed
Sleep: pretty good this week, as long as I don't wake up when Cody gets up. Otherwise it makes for a LOOONG day
Best moment this week: The family has been a little under the weather, so it was a pretty low key week.
Miss Anything: Nope
Movement: Yes, Little baby Austin likes to bump around. It's so much fun to feel her and reminds me of what's to come.
Food Cravings: uhhh I don't think so, I guess you can count my two bagels a day as a craving
Anything making you queasy or sick: Saturday's seem to have a curse on me, the last two I've thrown up from morning sickness. There is a certain time slot that I have to get food into my tummy when I wake up. If I miss the time slot, or make a bad choice (too much sugar) than it's down hill fast.
Gender: Sweet Sweet baby girl
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: I have been getting heartburn about 3pm everyday, it's about the time I need an afternoon snack, so I think I'm just waiting too long to eat.
Belly Button in or out: In still
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy, but have been a little stressed with moving and money lately. Taking things one day at a time.
Looking forward to: Another trip to Bickleton this weekend, hoping to get a lot of work done. My favorite country girl's wedding is on Saturday! Wish I could enjoy a few adult beverages to celebrate...guess I'll just pretend.

Nursery decorating

The last couple weeks I've been having some major nursery decorating withdrawals, I didn't want to start any projects until we knew the gender (gender neutral is SO not my thing) so as soon as I knew we were having another girl I high-tailed it to the craft store to pick up glitter, pink paint and all things girlie!!

Here are a few projects I've been working on...
(the pictures are low quality cell phone pics, sorry)

Baby girls name! Carter is a family name (on my side) and I've had it picked out since Reagan was born.

A little 6x6 canvas that I painted. One of my favorite lines from the one and only Tom Petty.

I am in LOVE with these little guys, they are just little plastic farm animals that I've painted and plan to glue on to lids of glass jars to hold things like Q-tips, cotton balls, and other baby necessities.

And last but not least, pink ombre distressed mason jars. I can see some bright flowers peaking out of these little babes.

Baby Number Two...

Is a GIRL!!
We are so happy to be having another beautiful healthy girl!

I wanted to do something special for a 'gender reveal' but having a party just really isn't feasible, since all our family and friends are so spread out over the States.

SO I thought I would send some little treats in the mail, hoping they would make it in one piece!!

Of course with the help of Pinterest, I was able to whip up these little gems!

I failed to take pictures during the process, but I can give you the 'run down'.

The concept of these cookies is to take three cookies and stack them together, the middle cookie having a space cut out in the middle to hide the frosting.

I purchased a onesie cookie cutter off of Amazon, whipped up my favorite go to sugar cookie recipe (TIP* pop your unbaked cut cookies in the freezer for 10-15 minutes before baking, it helps hold their shape).

Bake your cookies according to your recipe. Fresh out of the oven cut out a rectangle in every third cookie. Be careful not to get to close to the edge of the cookie or it won't be strong enough to assemble.
I just used a plain old butter knife and free handed the cutouts. After all you won't notice if it is uneven.

I used royal icing to "glue" the three cookies together, before placing the top cookie, fill your hole with either pink or blue icing. Pop your top cookie on and let set for a day, yes a day. Your cookies will need to be completely set in order to withstand the weight of the total cookie...still with me??

I then thinned the remaining white icing and spooned it all over the cookie letting it run down the sides.

When you break it open...BEHOLD! The gender reveal!

The day I had the ultrasound was also Cody's birthday, I wanted to make him some special treats as well!

For these guys, I carefully cut a hole in the top of the cupcake after baking and hid sprinkles inside. Replace the top and frost. Waaa-laaahh!

Weekend Recap

We had a great weekend away, we spent it in Bickleton. And now Monday has rolled around and I'm having a hard time getting motivated to do anything. Not to mention I have a wicked headache that's been hanging out all morning/afternoon.

Here are a few pics to capture our weekend festivities.

We've been able to tell most of our friends and family, but for those who don't know, Cody got a new job in the Tri Cities, and we'll be moving our little family into this beauty of a house in a month and a half.

We couldn't be more excited. We know we have a lot of hard work ahead of us, but it will be worth it in the end.

14 Months Old

Another month has come and gone, they seem to be going faster and faster.

You are at such a great age, you are a breeze to take out in public (for the most part). Great sleeper! Great eater! Love to learn and explore new things. You are a champion kiss blower, and like to give high fives.

We have so much fun during the days, we listen to lots of music and dance around singing.

You are still in 12 month clothes, and will be for awhile is my guess, you are such a petite little thing these days.

Daddy and I love you more and more everyday. You are such a joy and treasure to have in our lives. We are lucky you chose us.

Beach Day!!

This past weekend we loaded up the car and hit the road to Ocean Shores!

We had a great time, Reagan loved playing in the sand but wasn't too sure of the water. Maybe next year waves.

Dad's Visit

My Dad and StepMom came up for a visit from Arizona! It was such a special treat because it was the first time they had met Cody and Reagan. Long overdue visit! I was so happy they could come visit and get some squeezes in on Reagan!

Mom & Shawn's Casino Party!!

Mom and Shawn had a gorgeous party out at their house, it turned out fantastic and was a complete blast!!!

For two people who love to visit the local casino, a Casino party was a perfect theme!
