Winter & Holiday Bucket List

This year I've been so jazzed up for the Holidays. It's so unusual for me. Maybe I'm getting soft in my old age, or maybe the thought of sharing Holiday cheer with Reagan has evoked the Holiday lover in me.

Up until now I was fine listening to Christmas music once a year. On Christmas. But we have been playing it regularly around these parts.

I'm excited to do some festive events in the next few weeks, here are a few of our must do's::

So I raise my mug of hot chocolate, and toast you all in a magical and festive Winter season.
Cheers,

Feeling Thankful and Holiday plans

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

We had a beautiful and bountiful Thanksgiving at Cody's parents. So Thankful to have such a wonderful and giving extended family.

We had a relaxing morning, I made a small breakfast and we enjoyed coffee by the fire before cleaning up the house a little bit and getting ready to head over to the in-laws. I timed the one hour drive to co-inside with Reagan's nap, unfortunately she chose to only sleep for 30 minutes of it. Whatcanyado?!

This counts as my 29 week picture since I slacked this week. {29 Weeks 4 Days} and clearly Cody was feeling very relaxed after his eggnog drink.

Our beautiful table setting

And what barefoot and pregnant post would be complete without my completely horrible quality cell phone pics. You're Welcome.

Hope everyone's Thanksgiving was just as full-filling (pun intended)!

Now, lets get to bizznass.

CHRISTMAS!

The countdown till we can get a tree is ON like DONKEY KONG. Us Austin's have a debate on when we can get the tree, I want it NOW and Cody likes to hold off so it isn't a complete dried up fire danger by the time Santa slides down the chimney. I get it. I just don't care.

We kicked off the Christmas season with a round of peppermint hot chocolates. It was Reagan's first hot chocolate- she liked it, didn't love it.

I'm excited to get some more holiday type things done in the next couple weeks. We are scheduled to get snow this week, so, we have that to look forward to.

And last but not least. Our Austin 2nd Annual White Trash Christmas will be commencing at some point this month. We started this last year on a complete whim. We just decided to dress trashy and show up to my Mother's Christmas dinner. She was thrilled let me tell you.
Well now that it's a tradition, I'm putting much more thought and effort into it.

Here was last year's family pic::

Happy Holidays!

Nursery Update for baby Carter

We've been hard at work on Little Miss's soon to be new home. I still have a little ways to go before I feel 'done' but I wanted to give a sneak peak.

Hope you like it!

Clearly my top of the closet shelf needs some help...I also still need new hardware on my closet doors.

Loving the little above the changing table light we scored from Ikea. It will be a life saver for those late night/early morning diaper changes.

The changing table still needs some love too. The hard part about re-using furniture (from Reagan's nursery) is finding new ways to update it. I want to make it special for Carter, because lets face it, this girl is destined for hand-me-downs her whole life. Sorry babe.

I'm thinking some baskets will help jazz it up.

Does her crib look familiar?? Maybe because it's the exact same one Reagan has. I was lucky enough to find an exact match on craigslist. SCORE! I initially was hoping to get Reag in a toddler bed by the time Carter was ready for her crib, but decided since Reag loves her crib so much and sleeps so well I wasn't going to mess with perfection.

Miss Anything: Jeans that fit just right.

16 Months

Age: 16 Months

Stats: {Your guess is as good as mine}

Clothes: Still in 9-12 for the most part.

Favorite food: "Bree" which is bread. Reagan loves her some bread, I have bought some cinnamon raisin bread and pumpkin strudel bread and she loves that for breakfast.

Favorite words: Loves "Uh-oh"! She is a chatty little thing, most of which is rabble-gabble, with an occasional "bye" thrown in. She is a "Peeaa" (please) pro, she knows that she has to say it before we will give her things she wants.

Favorite activities: Karate Kicking complete with a "HIIYAA".

Least favorite activities: Not getting what she wants.

Signature moves: Still a champ at kiss blowing, also loves to walk up to me and hug/kiss my legs when I'm standing up.

Mom's proudest moment:  We were watching a food network show, and Reag saw something that must have peaked her interest because all of a sudden she was all "MMMMmMMMMm" and "YUM YUM!" it was so cute that she thought something on TV looked tasty. For someone who could watch the food channel all day it was a pretty happy moment for me.

Dad's proudest moment: Eating a Tim's Jalepeno chip like a champ! Reagan begged and begged for a bite when Cody was eating them and after telling her she wouldn't like it, that it was too spicy 100 times, I gave the go-ahead to give her a little piece. And although she ate it, she didn't ask for another one! We were pretty proud of her!

Other milestones: Reagan is an active as ever! She is really well behaved and listens when we ask her to do something (most of the time). Reagan has adjusted really well to the move and seems to really like it here.

Her 18month Molars have been starting to bother her, they are so swollen and feel like they could pop through at any time.

I'm so happy she is such a good eater, she has started to protest things we know she likes a little- but after we pretend to take a bite and proclaim how delicious it is, she goes in gunghoe.

Reagan is officially a one nap a day kinda gal. She goes down for her nap about 12-2p and sleeps for 1.5-2 hours. She wakes up for the day between 7-7:30a and bedtime is between 7-8p.

Work Day

We were so fortunate to have beautiful weather on Friday - So we took advantage, left our boxes and mess inside and headed outside to get some chores done. Mainly raking pine needles. It's totally an uphill battle with these guys, but needs to be done never the less.

Reagan was quite the entertainer, and it was a good thing Grandma Karen was here to chase her around and keep her out of trouble.

She loved helping Daddy push the wheelbarrow! Hope she likes chores this much when she is older.

Just a few of our piles, I will gladly rake if Cody cleans up my piles after me. -Bending over at this point in pregnancy is a chore in itself!

Lots of tumble weeds that get stuck in the fence

Oh Happy Day!

And so glad we got out for some fresh air when we did, Saturday and Sunday have been nasty, cold and windy!!
