The proof is in the pudding...I mean, Picture

I was pretty bummed that I didn't get a 38 week bump pic with Reagan. So I wanted to make sure I captured the last few days with Carter. I even busted out the big girl camera for this one. WHOA!

So here I am 38 weeks and 2 days.

Gotta love how the angle of the camera accentuates the roundness of my face. That's right. I'm blaming it on the camera.

**If you missed the girl's shared nursery tour, you can check it out HERE.
**For my 38 week update, that's HERE.

And now I'm off to devour some pudding which I strangely just got a craving for.

{UPDATE}

I had my doctor's checkup at 38 weeks 3 days, all my uncomfortable cramping and contractions have done nothing, zero, zip. Still sitting pretty at 1.5cm (same as last week), Doc and I decided to set an induction date so that this healthy baby girl doesn't get too big. SOOO unless she decides to make her apperance earlier - February 6th will be her birthday. Having a set day almost makes the anticipation worse. I've got one more week of cleaning/nesting/daydreaming before Carter arrives.

38...no, I refuse.

From the beginning of this pregnancy I had my mind made up that I wouldn't be pregnant this long.

Don't get me wrong. I'm happy that I have a healthy little babe squirming around happy as can be in my uterus. I'm thankful that my body has created and grown such a sweet little cherub. And that she continues to thrive in there, all warm and cozy. With that being said. GET OUT. Your time is up.

Obviously I'm being a little dramatic at this point, I can hardly roll out of bed- tieing my shoes has become and Olympic sport- and my constant hunger has driven our cabinets to be bare and my car through McDonalds more times than I care to disclose.

So now, I refuse to do another "weekly update" I'm sure your tired of reading the same thing over and over, I'm sure tired of typing it over and over. I sleep like shit, I gained weight and I'm cranky...The end.

So this week we are doing something different.

The weather has been cold and cloudy. I could use a little sunshine for sure.

I've been walking the neighborhood quite a bit. In 30 degree weather/snow flurries- I'm sure my neighbors think I'm pretty desperate.

My Mommy came to visit for the weekend, in hopes she could sweet talk little Miss into making her debut. No luck.

I sleep with a towel next to my bed because I'm convinced I will wake up to my water breaking or me peeing the bed. One of the two is bound to happen.

I had a lot of friends call/text to check in on me this week, which was nice. Thanks friends.

If I'm still pregnant on Thursday I have my weekly checkup. I may organize a sit-in, which would consist of me packing my purse full of snacks and refusing to leave until this girl is out. I'm positive Dr Smith would respond well to that.

Reagan has decided that anytime my belly is showing she needs to rub lotion on it.

She has also added "pizza" to her vocab. Not sure what took her so long to pick up on that one.

Cody is positive that I haven't had Carter because I'm mentally blocking the labor from starting. I told him "duh, I know what chaos the next 2-3 months holds for me".

That's all for this week. Lets hope a birth announcement is my next post!

The Girl's Shared Nursery

Happy to announce that the Girl's room is DONE! For the most part...
When we moved into our home I decided that I was going to have the girls share a room. I did some reading online and thought that having a shared nursery would be best option for our family. We'll see how it goes, we can always split them up if it doesn't seem to be working.

But for now. TAA-DAA!!

Matching cribs, it was shared space destiny. Of course they had to have matching sheets. I promise to only match their clothes on holiday's and whenever I feel like it.

The same old bookshelf from Reagan's original Nursery is adorned with baskets full of books and toys, a nightlight, radio, and glass canister full of hair bands and bows.

I gave the frames some fresh new artwork. I had a different idea of what I wanted the shared space to portray for the girls. I like to think of it as a girlie woodland theme. I died when I spied the stuffed jackalope on etsy. I had to have it. Reagan and I named her Josie.

Still loving the barnboard hanging that Cody and I made when I was pregnant with Reagan. My mom found these letters for the girl's names in a shop Downtown Seattle, it's hard to tell but they are cut out from children's books.

I'm SO SO happy with how it has turned out. We painted three of the four walls a light gray - the fourth (wall with the window) is a darker gray. I wanted to keep it simple so that the girls can grow into it and we won't have to repaint when they get their big girl room.

Now, lets see how long I can keep Reagan sleeping in her crib. It will be a learning experience to see how a almost two year old feels about sharing her room with a new baby sister. Of course Carter will be sleeping in our room for the first few months, so the transition will be down the road a bit.

37 Weeks

I wasn't supposed to be writing this CARTER, I was supposed to be trying to catch up on sleep in between diapers, and feedings. But since you are taking your time...here ya go.

How far along: 37 Weeks {Jan 20th}
Total weight gain: 43 lbs
Sleep: Awful. And I'm sure everyone is getting tired of me complaining about it. So am I.
Best moment this week: Spending some quality time with my Mom. Getting Carter's little corner ready in our room.
Miss Anything: I don't know. Same stuff as usual.
Movement: Still lots. She loves to get in uber painful positions during the night that shoot me right out of bed and begging for her to move. She gets the hiccups at least once a day.
Food Cravings: Flavored water
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope
Labor Signs: Some cramping and contractions
Belly Button in or out: Out
Happy or Moody most of the time: Moody, just cranky all around.
Looking forward to: DELIVERY

The pictures are particularly awful this week, turns out my kitchen lighting is less than desirable. But I was excited to use my new chalkboard wall.

Oh and had to rock my 6 sizes too small Seahawks sweatshirt, since we are SUPERBOWL bound and all.

36 Weeks

How far along: 36 Weeks {Jan 13th}
Total weight gain: Probably around 43...I'll find out Thursday. Unless I refuse to look at the scale.
Bump Size: Uh yeahhhh I'm past the pregnancy glow and into the "wow, you are ready to POP" from strangers. Little tip, that's not something pregnant woman like to hear. We know we're huge, we get it. You really don't need to remind us.
Sleep: Wicked bad. I spend the nights rolling from one side to another trying to avoid back and neck aches. Then when Reagan beckons at 6-6:30 I cross my fingers that I can get enough momentum to hurl myself over the edge of the bed. Lets not forget my 3am pee break every morning. But I know I shouldn't be complaining, it's soon to get much much worse. As in non-existent.
Best moment this week: We've had lots of fun getting settled into our new home, still working on painting, I love saying goodbye to the white walls one at a time. Seriously, who lives in an almost completely white house. BORING. I also got my preregistration done at the Hospital, kind of a big deal.
Miss Anything: Mobility
Movement:  Lots, Baby Carter loves to give me swift painful jabs. Lots of Hiccups.
Food Cravings: WONTONS! I had been craving them all week and finally got my fix yesterday.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Eating too many wontons....
Gender: Sweet baby Girl
Labor Signs: Lots of cramping and a few strong contractions. I was REALLY REALLY hoping this would be my last weekly update.
Symptoms: The heartburn (knock on wood) hasn't been as bad this week, probably because sweet thang is hanging out so low in my belly, she is actually giving my stomach a little room to properly digest. Also feeling like I need to run to the bathroom every 20 minutes.
Belly Button in or out: Out. and I love making Cody feel it. My new outie freaks him out.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy
Looking forward to: A visit this weekend from my Mommy!! I can't wait for her to see our new home sweet home.

18 Months...Oh Shit

My Dearest Reagan,

How does time seem to fly by, even after I have repeatedly asked it to slow down? I cant believe how much you've changed in the last 6 months.

You have taken your first steps, said your first words and have developed quite the little personality all since you've turned one.

You love to give hugs and kisses to your babies and stuffed animals, you dont have a favorite, you spread the love evenly to all your friends.

You have officially mandated that I stop feeding you, you want to do it yourself. And do
a pretty good job for the most part. You still love to dance and have started singing in your own little language. I love hearing your little girl voice.

One of your most favorite things to do is read your books, but that might be tied with puzzle doing.

Another enjoyable activity is making animal noises. I especially love when you do an elephant, you stick your little hand to your nose like a trunk. So cute.

You are a pro at taking off and putting on my slippers. You also love to find daddy's shoes laying around and put them on.

You are a big fan of bath time, until I have to wash the shampoo out. A master at sleeping, and starting to take longer naps. Your molars are all in. But still missing your canines.

We moved into what will be your childhood home, we hope to make lots of memories for you here. I am excited for Spring when you can run and play in the big backyard.

You love to draw on your magnadoodle and chalkchalkboard.

My love for you grows everyday, and you seem to amaze me with something new everyday. Including your new go to phrase, "oh shit". Mother of the year.

Watching you become the person you are today has been my ultimate favorite thing ever. We have so much fun everyday and I learn just as much from you as you do from me.

Love you to the moon and to the stars.

XoXo,

Momma

35 Weeks

How far along: 35 Weeks {Jan 6th}
Total weight gain: 41 Lbs...what the what?!
Bump Size: Big, Very BIG. My belly is measuring 39 cm- typically the amount of cm your belly is should coincide with how many weeks you are.
Sleep: Sucky town for sure. I miss the days when I could sleep for 16 hours undisturbed.
Best moment this week: Oh so many. Getting settled into our home, paint has been applied to walls and boxes have been unpacked. Clothes have yet to be hung....weired. I also got an impromptu ultrasound to see how big baby girl is getting. She decided to sleep through it instead of give mama a show, but I did get to see that she has hair. She was practicing her breathing, so her lungs are developed. And she is measuring about 39 weeks and 2 days. No wonder why my belly is huge! The computer estimated her weight at 7lbs 3oz. Which I know my doctor will be relieved about. He was worried she was going to be in the double digits already.
Miss Anything: Normal mobility. Putting on pants has become more of a catching fish in a net procedure. I just dangle my pants by the waistband and hope I can somehow snag a foot.
Movement: Still lots, she has definitely maxed out on space. Also lots of hiccups.
Food Cravings: I had a major obsession with creating the perfect ice cream sunday.
Anything making you queasy or sick: No, feeling good.
Gender: Sweet Baby Girl
Labor Signs: A few contractions here and there
Symptoms: Heartburn/acid reflux. My feet have been a little puffy.
Belly Button in or out: Pop Lock and Drop
Happy or Moody most of the time:  Happy/Tired/Excited/Anxious
Looking forward to: Delivery Day, waiting is the hardest part.

Check out this cutie pie smushed in there!

The Hap Happiest New Year's

Us Austin's spent New Year's Eve morning frantically throwing our valuables in boxes. Why? Because we had an appt at 11a to sign the papers for our home.

We jetted from Bickleton to Kennewick and signed our lives away. We were able to do our walk through and get the keys right after.

We took a family lunch break before unloading the car/truck/trailer. We unpacked and did a little cleaning before ordering pizza for our move in feast.

Bedtime was about 9p, but technically I was awakened at 12a by the neighborhood setting off fireworks. So I'll count that as ringing in the New Year.

I had wonderful dreams of paint colors and bossing Cody around in my mission to improve and update the home. At 5:30a on New Year's day I was up and ready for more action. Reagan was right behind me at 6:15a. Once Cody was up we managed to pull ourselves away from organizing to enjoy the morning over a hot cup of joe and cold pizza.

Cody took a trip to Home Depot for some items, and when he came home we both finished our first diy projects! Cody installed a new lock and bolt set on our front door and I applied a frosted window cling to our front door decorative window. Neither project was anything to write home about, but we both felt very accomplished with our small steps.

Reagan seems to be loving her new digs, she has been running around being crazy. Most important she has been sleeping great! Even took a 2.5 hour nap today, and that happens, uhhhh never. Litterally the first time she has ever napped that long.

And now, Cody is off to work- Reagan and I are enjoying a little couch time and watching Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. The original of course.

The rest of my to-do's for the day are: spaghetti, bath for her, shower for me and bed for us both!

Pretty damn good start to 2014!

Cheers to the New Year!
