Gearing up for the Fourth of July

It's no secret the Fourth is my favorite holiday. Something about the smell of gun powder wafting through the air, flags flapping in the warm Summer breeze and stuffing your belly with hot dogs and s'mores. It's the perfect combination to make this redneck happy.

Plus who can pass up rolly polly babies in Red, White and Blue??

Double Take!

I did a comparison pic awhile back of Carter to Carter, but thought it would be fun to do a comparison of Reagan to Carter. Both pics are the girls about 4 & 1/2 months old. Both chowin on some grub. That's about where the similarities end.

Pre Party Photo Shoot

I know I'll probably be too busy on party day to attempt some sisterly photos, so I figured I would do it early.

Dresses from babyGAP
Headbands from August in November on Etsy (we'll take one of everything please)

This one is DEFINITELY my favorite. Even though it appears Reagan is choking out Carter, she is giving her a hug. And it quite possibly is the only picture of them both semi-looking at the camera with semi-sorta smiles.

Two Under Two'sday

My vary last Tuesday having two chitlins under two years of age. Next week Reagan will be TWO!

I wrote a little about our week yesterday, the only other note worthy event was an afternoon visit from Nana and Papa. We always love when we get to see them. Reagan unfortunately slept through 99% of the visit, only to wake up for brief Nana snuggles before they had to leave.

But Carter, she got alllll the attention. And that was fine by her!

33 Hours with Daddy

Us Austin girls had a very special weekend! We got to spend a whole day with Cody, 33 hours to be exact...but who's counting??

This is the longest we've had Cody around since he got home from Kansas City, and it was magical. I savored every minute, every diaper that he changed, dish that he washed and cry that he soothed. It was so great to be part of a team again, it was hard to say good bye.

We made the best of our time playing outside a lot and enjoying each others company.

These little firecrackers got some new Fourth of July gear from Miss Danna, I had grandiose ideas of a spectacular photo shoot. Those plans were quickly foiled. But I will attempt again soon. These outfits need to be captured in all their glory. I did manage some token recliner shots.  Someday I'll figure out how to get them both in focus. #expensivecameraproblems

Happy Monday to you all!

My little garden

Remember when I planted my garden? I wanted to share a little update now that we are amid the growing season!

Lets see here, we have peppers, both sweet and hot. Chives, tomatoes, sugar snap peas, onions, pumpkins and corn. All along the fence are sunflowers and I'm so excited about blooming!

And in front yard news:
My super hunky handsome husband helped tear out the over grown bushes that were in the front rockery area. SO much better, those bushes may have started to give me anxiety when I passed by them. And I just happen to know a few new brightly painted planters that will look fab out there.

My pride and joy, an itty bitty avocado tree that I've grown from a pit...or I guess a seed. Thanks Pinterest.

Two Under Two'sday

Shhhhh...the girls are finally asleep. I'm exhausted, but I'm here. So lets recap some highlights from our week in sunshiney Kennewick.

CJ has started to sit up without any help. Sometimes she will sit for a while, sometimes she topples right over.

Tried bananas, loved them! And I quickly remembered why I hate these mesh feeders. They are a B to clean.

I've since painted those gawd awful nails.

Bathroom selfies have become a staple of our day. One of the thousands of pics I send to Cody throughout the day, just to let him know we are all still alive. Also, so in love with the hip holding stage. Makes things so much easier.

A project I've been working on: Hand painted Mexican 'Talavera' pottery inspired planters. This is an unfinished pic, I have the blue one done now, the red is almost done.

Tried sweet potatoes, loved them!

And that's the end of our boring week.

Two under Two'sday

Is it Tuesday already? Gah.

Guess I shouldn't complain, I only have two more weeks of two under two. Then I will have two - two and under...

Reagan's birthday party update::

Unlike last year I have been totally behind the ball with Reagan's second birthday. I have a theme. Beach. A color palate. Blue. But that's about it.

I did manage to get invitations sent out, they didn't turn out nearly as cute as I wanted, but gave two shits less and threw them in envelopes & away they went.

I have started making my lists, to do, to buy, to is a peak at what is rattling around in my party planning brain.

We'll see what eventually gets checked off my lists, I'm sure not all of it will. After all, the point is to celebrate the life of this little gem, and that is exactly what we will do!

Weekend Recap

Our weekend?
Well I'm glad you asked.

It was filled with magic and mystery.

Ok, maybe not. But we did make a visit to our favorite farm..which is basically heaven on earth. So win-win.

Friday we got to spend a few short and sweet hours with daddy before he choo'choo'ed back to Spokane.

Saturday we got a call from Nana, a last minute invite to the farm for the day. We of course jumped at the chance to go and loaded up & shipped out.

With a detour to photo-shoot town first.

I know I'm biased. But those two are the cutest in the world.

On to Bickleton.

We had such a good visit, and it is safe to say that Carter has stolen both Nana and Papa's heart!

We made it back home just in time for bed.

Sunday is picture less. Womp Womp.

I made breakfast.
Hemmed curtains.
Washed windows.
Did laundry.
Drank wine.
Cheered when the girls napped simultaneously.
Watched trash TV.
Made dinner.

That was our weekend.

Cheers to Monday!
