Super High Quality Cell Phone Pics

Some of these may be repeaters if we are instafriends (ashleyaustin11) but I needed to get the bulk of  baby spam off my cellular.

Are we there yet? no.

I'm still here! Geeze I've been major slacking on posting this month. Can we pretend it's because I've been so busy, with nary a moment to rest? Okay, truth is, I spend most of the day staring at the clock counting down the seconds until Cody is done with training. But we have breached the one month count down, September 27th is the day I'm going out and never returning buying a lotto ticket!

With the dog days (who says that) of Summer coming to an end we are gearing up for FALL. My absolute most favorite season. All things pumpkin spice, football, and hoodies. I'm sure our air conditioner is looking forward to a little R&R as well.

I've been doing some little projects around the homestead, my craft room is in tip top shape (for the first time since we moved in), I've been working on refinishing our dining table and chairs - the table is done and I'm all sorts of heart eye'd emoji in love with it, the chairs are getting a round dos of refinishing as I was a little careless when taping them off to spray paint the legs and back- other odds and ends fill my days to make me feel more productive. One of them however hasn't been blogging. But never fear, the girl's monthly posts are right around the corner.

Until we meet again.

Us girls spent a weekend at our favorite farm house. And then topped it off with a Gray family reunion.

Here is a quick and hopefully painless recap of our on-goings:

I tried my hand at being artful with this little sunflower growing in the middle of a wheat field.

Carter dance partied.

Reagan peek-a-boo'ed

Misc non-sense

Arty Party take 2

Reagan loving on her Uncle Rick and his handsome boys.

Pretty sure I have a similar picture of myself and Uncle Rick, but he was somewhere in his teen's and had a bitchin mullet. I may need to dig that up.

Reagan getting an assist after a sink bath in the park bathroom, we had yet another puke fest in the car #thejoysofmotherhood.

Reagan dodging family at the family reunion and heading straight to the big toy.

Sacked out for the ride home. Thankfully no pukage.

We had such a great weekend, seeing family, soaking up some sunshine and breathing in lots of fresh air.

Hoping next weekend brings a visit from Daddy, going on three weeks since we've seen him :(

Cheers to Monday & big pots of hot coffee!

These. Are the days of our lives.

Mucho Mucho Gracias's to my friend Jessie, she recently came to visit us and was kind enough to take a few pictures of the Austin ladies.

It was your average toddler wrangling/mama sweating her balls off photo session, but I am so happy to have these pictures to help capture this moment in our life.

I think it's safe to say Carter stole the show. Reagan was sans nap and we were all working with heat nearing the triple digits, next time girl.

Sweet Dreams Are Made of These

Yesterday Reagan and Carter got new bedtime gear! Made with love by yours truly.

Us girls took a little day trip to our favorite  fabric store to scope out the goods, I've had the idea of making Reagan a new bed spread for awhile now. The blanket she has been using since she was six months old was getting a little small for her, and although we do love that special blankie, it was time for a big girl blanket.

I had the big idea of making something that will convert to a toddler bed easily. Even though that adventure is a ways away. So once we meandered through the craft section with nothing in hand, we b-lined for the fabric. Reagan and I had fun looking through the bolts, after giving the four prospective fabrics her approval she would give them the softness test, rubbing them against her cheek.

We had finally widdled the fabrics down to her favorite when we happened across THE ONE she spotted it and squealed "PIG!" So I pulled it off the shelf and it was love at first sight, Reagan picked out this adorable flannel with pigs, cows, and chickens on it. So we were off to find a matching fabric to back it with.

We grabbed a number and waited our turn to have our fabric cut. I pulled out my phone and did a quick calculation on how much fabric I would need to complete the project at hand. I originally wanted to make blankies for both girls, but thought ehhh better save some money and just make one for Reag. After doing a quick google search to see how big her mattress is, I determined I needed 4.5 yards. As the very nice lady was measuring it out, I said to myself, "gee, that's a lot of fabic". Alas my infamous math skills failed me once again. I needed 4.5 feet (1.5 yards). Welp, I now have enough fabric to make two, plus matching pillow cases. Win Win I suppose.

When we got home, I kicked into mommy crafting mode and quickly put both girls down for a nap.

I made the blanket similar to this, actually exactly the same- it's just long and skinny- I love the rounded corners, it makes it looked so finished yet it is SO easy to do!

I had the perfect amount of the teal fabric, literally not an inch too much. I ended up with a few feet extra of the farm print, which is a good thing since it has quickly become Reagan's favorite item in the house. I'll have to find a sweet little project to use it for.

When it was time to go to bed Reagan couldn't have been ANY cuter! I hope I never forget that moment. The next morning when I went to get her up she was lying on her tummy looking at all the animals, she is the best. I think I'll keep her.

Carter of course still doesn't sleep in her crib. She has started waking back up at night, growth spurt? teething?? I don't know. But I do know that I don't want two awake babies at 3am, so for now she is happy in my room in her mini crib. I'm honestly in no rush to move her. I like the company since Cody is gone all the time. When the time comes, I of course will take the pillow out. I do let her sleep with a blankie, but I'll probably replace this with a smaller one for now.

I recently modified their changing table, taking off the rails for the changing part that was on top- making it more of a dresser. I like it.
