"Ready for Winter Mama!!"

We got a few flurries of snow this morning, we got bundled up and spent some time playing in it! I had to bribe Reagan to come in with 'special treats'. I don't think we'll get much accumulation nor will it stick around for long, but it made for a happy 2 year old and a fun morning!

O' Christmas Tree

As is our day after Thanksgiving tradition, us Austins picked up and purrdy'd up our Christmas tree yesterday! The girls are both enamored with it! It's so special to see the magic of Christmas through their eyes, it makes it all very worth it!

Cody will be putting up our main outside lights on the house tomorrow (his day off), but for now we have a few lit garlands and a pair of wreaths. And some random solar lights that are slowly dying out.

No scrooges here!

I have always wanted my house to look like the magazines during Christmas time, but it turns out that's really expensive, and my eye for decorating is for now we have sporadic items placed awkwardly around and out of the reach of sticky little baby hands.

Hence forth...centerpiece?

Greenery on bar area?

Great-Grandma's deer tray. I like to call this one "deer on shelf".

Reagan's advent calendar. I made a matching one for CJ, who obvs won't be using it this year. In true Ashley form, there are mistakes on both, good enough for who it's for though, right?

And lastly, we come upon the girls' mini tree in their room. I bought this tree when I lived in an apartment in Scottsdale, it was my first Christmas away from home. It's been with me many years now and I love being able to use it still. Does anyone else have an emotional attachment to a fake tree? Just me? Ok then.

Thanksgiving 2014

Has everyone recovered from their turkey hangovers?

We enjoyed a small Thanksgiving dinner with Cody's parents, it was fabulous! I mentioned before that we celebrated early, so on the real thanksgiving we ate rice and won-tons for dinner. It was weird knowing that everyone else was just sitting down to turkey and stuffing and we were already burnt out on leftovers.

Now, who's ready for Christmas?!

12 &13

Look what the cat dragged in...more bathroom selfies, for your viewing pleasure.

Exhibit A: 12 weeks (Nov 16th)

B: 13 weeks (Nov 23rd)

How about a little FAQ's segment to keep things lively:

How am I feeling?

Feeling great, crazy good. Someone run to the forest and knock on every tree because this ish is b-a-n-a-n-a-s.

Are you really waiting to find out the gender?

So far, yes.

But, what do you feel like it is?

uhh a baby...?

What names have you talked about?

We're not telling.

Why is your belly so big?

Because it's TWINS! just kidding. Uh because my muscles think they are on permanent vaca. As soon as the hormones kick in they are all ''party in the USA, ya'll". It helps that by the time this baby will be born- I will have spent more time pregnant in the last four years than not pregnant. Tummy tuck here I come!

...I guess there isn't as many questions as I thought...

BUTTT let us chat about me some more, because I got a belly full of Thanksgiving dinner and I'm feeling sassy.

- Had a doctors appt, on the 19th(?) and all is well. Baby's heartbeat was 155. Doctor said it's highly likely that I'll have low blood platelets during labor again, which means no epidural. Womp Womp.

- As mentioned above, we got to celebrate Turkey day early due to Cody's schedule. Which I doubt any pregnant woman has ever complained about. Also, I'm already in my stretchy pants so, I win. AND it means we get to jump start the Christmas Season.

- Speaking of, we got the girls a play kitchen for Christmas. It came in a 50 lb box of approximately 300 tiny pieces, and it took all of my self restraint not to put the girls to bed at 3pm and go to town on it.

- I'm so embarrassed to admit, I've been sucked into the Gossip Girl scene. Who am I? In my defense, I watched the first 15 minutes of the first episode - was repulsed and turned it off. Only to return to give it a second chance a few days later. And now....well, now my life is on hold for another four seasons.

- Preg symptom alert! Dry skin, hangnails and itchy scalp. Oh the glamorous life I live.

- What else, what else. Maybe that's all for now diary. Till next time.

Easy like Sunday Morn'in

I came in from raking leaves to find these two snoozers.

Nine Months

More of a nine and a half month update...

My Dearest Carter,

Well what is there to say, other than I totally regret that bow situation... we've managed to grow and learn through another month, one month closer to being my 'not a baby - baby'. Because let's face it, you'll always be my baby.

You're not quite walking on your own, you get so mad sometimes when you can't keep up with Reagan running up and down the hall. I thought for sure this would be the month that you would start. You love to get buck wild in your walker and stroll around holding our hands, and you have made so much improvement on free standing.

You LOVE music, and have started swaying, dancing and even your own kind of singing. It's the best! It really doesn't matter where the music is coming from, if you hear it you are a-bobbin-along!

Your Sister is truly your best friend. It just melts my heart to see you two play together, the way you look at her puts a smile on my face all day long.

We might as well have named you Carter Mischievous Austin, because that's the name of your game. If it's a 'no-no' you're into it. Around here the old saying "if they're being quiet, they're getting into trouble" is definitely true with you!

You're completely off purees, you love yogurt and applesauce (which I still put in pouches) as well as anything we're eating. Graham crackers are your ultimate weakness, anytime I need to buy a few minutes that's where I go.

I've noticed this month that you use your left hand much more than your right when reaching for things and feeding yourself. I know it's too early to tell if you'll be a lefty - but that sure would be interesting! Time will tell.

You're such a good baby, always have been really. We really lucked out on getting you babe. You light up our lives everyday and are such an amazing addition to our little family. I have a feeling you will be keeping us on our toes in the years to come, and I can't wait!

I love you my sweet stinky girl.

4 weeks thru ... 10 and a half weeks.

Let us play a little ketchup today! I've been secretly writing blog posts about my ever expanding body and I figured it was about damn time I shared. I know what you're thinking - gah these get so boring by the end. I'll try to keep things interesting - if you have suggestions or questions for me please send them my way, after all my number one goal in life is to entertain you all with my body and my words.

 4 Weeks. {Sep 17th}

Welp. Here we go again!

Two of the Five tests I took
I just found out this morning that we are expecting little Austin numero tres, the internets is telling me baby will be here around the 27th of May- but we all know the due date will get bumped back about a week, after I get my first ultrasound.

Very much in shock right now. Cody and I had discussed a third child, but were leaning towards being done,  Jokes on us.

Very much excited! It's always amazing to know you are growing a human inside you.

Ironically I laid in bed yesterday morning at 3am after feeding CJ and couldn't fall back asleep - I said to myself, ''gah I only get insomnia when I'm pregnant, weird''. Boom.

Fingers crossed for less 'morning' sickness than last time.

Where are we going to put this baby?

Now for the prelim picture:: {So far just a food baby}

5 Weeks {Sep 24th}

I officially had my first hormonal cry, to none other than Mr. Tim Mcgraws 'Meanwhile back at Mama's'. And then I ugly cried while watching 'Saving Mr. Banks' - great movie.

I miss coffee. Like for reals. My one cup a day just isn't cutting it.

I get little flashes of headache pain.

Dizzy spells.

Why do they say heightened sense of smell? What they should say is everything smells like farts and puke. Even things I generally like.

As soon as I kick up my heels after the girls go down I get an overwhelming fatigue, the can't hold my eyes open type.

Reagan and I made a batch of cookies, a sure fire way to keep yourself from devouring the whole batch in one sitting is to substitute four of the primary ingredients.

This pregnancy is off the chain different - I know, I know it's still so early - but *knock on wood* I'm not getting any of the nasty early symptoms like I did with the girls. Could it be a boy? Could my body just be all "been there, done that, bought the T-shirt"? And it's always weird until I see the first ultrasound - I totally feel like I'm making it up, it's all in my head - alas, the five positive tests speak the truth.

Uhh when/how are we going to tell our family??

              Nice and blurry. just keepin it real

7 Weeks {Oct 12th}

Had the first ultrasound this past week, baby was of course smaller than calculated; due May 31st.

Dr Smith was thrilled to have me back as a "repeat customer''.

The girls are testing my patience at every moment, giving my hormones a run for their money.

The new bed time for me is 7:30p, which pails in comparison to my standard bed time of 8:30p, I like to party.

Still no nausea, thanking my lucky stars.

                                      8 Weeks {Oct 19th}

Going through my bagel and cream cheese phase, seems to always happen about this time.

I had been wearing my button up jeans as much as possible, simply because I could. I can no longer...although I have a feeling it has more to do with Halloween candy and less with the baby..?

We got a new oven/stove, which makes me feel more like an adult than anything else.

But then I poked holes in the top of the box and pushed christmas lights through and it was back to un-adulthood.

10 Weeks {Nov2nd}

Everything smells like puke, or pee.

Hungry a lot.

Tired even more.

Having a touch of morning nausea, but nothing major.

Went on a maternity clothes shopping spree, I feel like a new woman!

Cody said I can get anything I want/need for this pregnancy (hence the shopping spree). Just want it on record.

In case you all thought I would actually put in some effort to these update pics. Ha jokes on you. Society says I get to do less so we're just jumping right into blurry bathroom selfies.

Also, Halloween is over so Christmas lights are up, don't worry just inside the house.

Have blackout shade, will travel.

We had the most delightful trip to visit my brother this past week, we hit all the basics. Eat a lot, drink a lot (not me, of course) and laugh a lot. Reagan followed him around like a lost puppy, and thought he was just the coolest thing.

We had a looong drive over, my car was of course packed...two pack n plays, a walker, toys, snacks, and a partridge in a pear tree. But we made it just in time to help my brother throw a Halloween costume together. Had to throw in that tid bit so you don't think my brother rocks a red satin cumberbun on the regular.

I was so proud, the girls made it though a week without breaking of any of Nana's pretties. Carter did however leave her mark on the fridge, the perfect greasy hand print to remind Nana for weeks to come of the time we spent there.

Riley nursing one of his hangovers from the couch with his new bestie.

And here we are, playing outside where Reagan found every puddle within a 2 mile radius and jumped in it.

And this is the point at which her boots completely filled with water.

The boys cut down trees, they were so proud that they begged me to take this picture. You're welcome fellas.

We are now safely and soundly back at the homestead. Tomorrow brings work for Cody and reality for me.

Pass the coffee.
