A Very Merry Christmas Post

What a special Christmas!! We were so lucky to have so much family make the trip from all over the state! Great Grandma Paulie traveled the furthest, so she wins the Christmas prize.

Santa came!! He brought the girls unicorns and slippers!

Reagan painted each of the Grandma's their own little masterpiece.

And Nana may have made Reagan's whole year by getting her two Barbie's!!! It was the cutest moment ever!  "OH! MY! GOD! MY FIRST BARBIEEEE!!!!"

Baby's first Christmas!

Reagan also got a pink BB gun! "So I can hunt cats!"

and because the outtakes are always better...

It was so great to have a house full of family, and now that the tree is headed to the dump and the pine needles have been swept up Cody and I are left to referee the barbie battles.

Reagan's Christmas program

Last week Reagan had her preschool Christmas program, it was pretty cute, and I can't even begin to describe the patience that these teachers have. The kids had memorized a few classical Christmas songs and each one had a different dance routine that went a long with it.

The kids also got lots of sugary treats, and a special present from their teacher.

Lets just assume I won't be winning any Oscars for my videography...

Homeade Baby Food

I was pretty good about making the girls' food when they were babies, but poor baby Lincoln has gotten the short side of the pureed stick on this one. But I've been recently re-inspired (mainly by the poor guys bouts with constipation) to get in the kitchen and do a little cookin for my babe.

Pinterest is such an AMAZING source for baby food recipes, so I took to it. I found and fell in love with Not only are the recipes creative and delicious but the photos are beautiful!

So here is what I came up with! And I must say, I tasted everything I made and it's SO GOOD!

The chicken, I cooked in a pan with reduced sodium chicken broth. The last few minutes I threw in some frozen peas so they could cook a bit. I blended them all up using the cooking liquid to thin.

The sweet potatoes I roasted in the oven for 40 minutes or so, scooped them out and blended up using the chicken stock from above to thin.

The beef, I used a high quality ground beef and cooked in beef broth. Again, use the cooking liquid to thin as you blend it up.

I was able to find prunes in the bulk section at our local grocery store, I heated up some water in the microwave and let the prunes soak for 10 minutes or so. Blended using some of the water from soaking.

It's so fun to create different combinations, and it's super gratifying to feed your growing little babe some homemade food.

I have some more recipes in the works, I'll keep you posted on them.

Oh Christmas Tree

And as for Carter...lately it's hard enough to keep clothes on her, let alone get her to stand for five seconds in front of the tree for a picture.

Gingerbread House

When you choose to forget the gingerbread kit, and your three year old doesn't let you forget you promised to make one...

You whip up some royal frosting and bust out the sprinkles.

Viva Las Vegas!

Lincoln and I jet-setted our way to Vegas for a quick weekend getaway to celebrate the Holidays with some of my favorite people!

We stayed at my Uncle Rick's beautiful house just minutes away from all the Vegas action. The warm dry air sure made me miss Arizona.

Lincoln got to meet his Uncle Riley! He also got to experience Fremont Street, and all the weird that comes with it.

Linc was a champ to travel with, and really I expected nothing less. He is the first of our offspring to experience air travel. And most likely will be the only for many years to come.

More Snow Day Fun

We woke up Wednesday morning to MORE snow! Where was all this snow last year?! Hopefully the mountains are getting dumped on, we sure could use a healthy snowpack.

The girls were SO excited to go play in it. Well at least Reagan was.

We have quickly discovered, in our two short snow days, that Carter is not a fan.

This is probably my favorite. Totally sums it up.

We got an impressive three or so inches. It's managed to stick around, although now we are getting freezing rain. Hopefully we're in for a snowy Winter and maybe even a white Christmas!!

Six Months

The sweetest boy that ever did live.

Happy half birthday little guy. We have your checkup in a couple weeks, cant wait to see where you clock in at for measurements.

I really don't have much to say this month that I haven't already said. You continue to be amazing, growing like a weed. Love your sisters. Love bath time, being talked to and playing with your rattles.

I think these pictures may speak for themselves.

We love you sweet boy, more than words could ever begin to describe.

Lincoln's Stats:
Height: 27.5 inches (79%)
Weight: 18 lbs 3 oz (60%)

CJ's .08 second ride

We went to visit the hee'haws at the farm, and all this sweet girl wanted to do "ride?". So I told mom to throw her leg over knowing full well that good ole Chucky boy would take off, but to a pony loving one year old that's all she needed.
