Meanwhile, back in Suburbia...

We have been a busy bunch since returning from vacation. Two days after our return we got new carpet (FINALLY!!), no more of that awful green well worn carpet that came with the house. I had been dreaming of this day since the day we moved in. But this of course leaves lots of finish and trim work to be done. All in good time I suppose.

Since we already conveniently had the rooms empty we switched the girls to the bigger of the two secondary rooms. Leaving the smaller one for an interim craft room-turning Lincoln's room.

In case you need a reminder of the 8 yr old contractor grade carpet de jour:

I did my best to hide it with furniture and rugs. I'd say the new upgrade was money well spent.

Since moving the girls, they've deemed the closet their "cubby" space. They play and read in there everyday. In their old room they just had a little tiny closet that was full of s.t.u.f.f. mainly Costco size boxes of diapers and wipes, unused blankets, and too small clothes. Since we don't have new doors on yet I haven't put any of that stuff back, because well, toddlers. But I'm sure I'll have it packed back full in no time.

I've also been busy painting/staining/poly coating the children's new dressers. Cody and I managed to find some at Ikea when we were on the west side, so I've turned the garage into a little Swedish workshop. I'm so excited to share them when they are done. So far they have turned out better than I expected.

We've also been busy with some early Spring time outdoor projects. Cody took some of the branches off our overgrown / so extremely crooked tree in the backyard. Plus we're hell bent on getting use out of our fire pit this Spring before the inevitable burn ban kicks in this Summer.

Reagan discovered her love for fire pits at the cabin, just like Mommy and Daddy.

And just because Cody doesn't get enough blog love.
