Beach'n. July Fourth.

So we hit the beach for a family vacation / birthday celebration,

It was a PAINFUL 8 hour drive, Carter and Lincoln took turns cry-screaming the majority of the way. We were all just about to jump ship when we slow rolled (thanks to traffic) into the town of Gearhart Oregon.

Saturday we hit up the parade.

The girls' first parade! Carter made friends with every single dog that wandered by and Reagan quickly learned that the candy they threw out was for her.

After the parade we headed back to the house for lunch and a nap before hitting the beach.

Lincoln upheld his reputation as the easiest most chill baby ever and spent his beach time lounging in the back of the car.

This is how Carter spent a whole 3 minutes.

& this is how Carter spent the rest of the time at the beach...

We were so surprised that Carter, the queen of dirt digging, wanted nothing to do with the sand. She happily played in the back of the car and kept baby brother company.

Cody took Reagan out for a dip and came back like this.

I took Reag out for a dip, and she came back like this...

Needless to say, she didn't go back out in the water.

I would say it was a mostly successful beach experience, give or take. We all left with smiles on our faces.

& Lincoln even got his toes dipped in the Pacific Ocean.

Sunday morning rolled around, we packed up and hit the road. This time it was a measly 6.5 hour drive, but I will say that road tripping with three little ones is something I would only recommend to people with lots of patience and less than average hearing.

It was a beautiful weekend spent with great company, and I'm so happy to have these memories in the bank.
